Enrolling in Class

North Seattle Community College is the only program that offers an Assistant Certificate in the State of Washington. This certificate formally recognizes the completion of the four modules of CCE 160 Connecting to Children which teachers complete as they work with children in their own center or day care home. The four modules cover explore different aspects of interacting with children. Module D1 explores being positive. Module D2 explores being playful. Module D3 explores being informative. Module D4 explores helping children start new things, do them with others, and complete them.

This certificate can be earned in any language. No English proficiency is required, nor is any college level writing skill required. Participants work together with others who are enrolled in each module, sharing orally what they are doing with their own children, and working collaboratively in improving their skills, expressing their values, and documenting their effectiveness.
