Meeting with an advisor While there are generally set courses for students pursuing professional/technical programs, programs change regularly to keep current with trends in the job market. Meeting with an advisor will ensure you have the necessary preparation to start a program and keep you on track when a program changes. Advisors are available on a drop-in basis; however, appointments are available during weeks 3-6 of any given quarter. When you come to meet with an advisor, be prepared. Bring your student ID number and any prior academic planning information that you have made with advisors: placement test scores, scope and sequence sheets, copies of substitution/waiver forms, transcripts, etc. Links to program info on the NSCC siteLearn more about the Professional/Technical programs at NSCC. Reminder Items Do you have your Educational Plan? If you are pursuing a certificate or degree, you are strongly encouraged to meet with an advisor to develop an educational plan. An educational plan is a roadmap towards completing a college degree and an outline of the coursework required to complete an educational goal or program of study. Transfer credits to NSCC? Planning to transfer to a four-year institution? Plan to graduate within 2 quarters? More questions? |
