Students new to college or new to NSCC can benefit from visiting the Advising Center. The Advising Center staff provides new student orientations, educational planning and ongoing academic advising for students in select programs.
How to Register for Classes
New students should start with the 'Steps to Admission'. This is an 8-step process that begins with applying to the college.
-
New Student Orientations
In these orientations, new students get an overview of our programs, services and the registration process and can meet with an advisor to plan and register for classes. Make sure
you sign up for a New Student Orientation .
New Student Advising
By following the 'Steps to Admission',
most students will have the opportunity to meet with an advisor during the New Student Orientation.
- Have Questions?
Visit the Frequently Asked Questions
page. You can find general questions as well as questions for your area
of study.
Advising by Area of Study
NSCC Advisors are specially trained to aid students
in specific program areas. This means that your advisor is in contact
with the staff in your program, aware of program and courses, and all
sorts of details in your area of study.
To find the right advisor for you, read through: Who
is my advisor?
