Meeting with an advisor
Advisors are available on a drop-in basis; however, appointments are available during weeks 3-6 of any given quarter.

When you come to meet with an advisor, be prepared. Bring your student ID number and any prior academic planning information that you have made with advisors: placement test scores, degree worksheet, educational planning sheet, transcripts, etc.

Reminder Items
Do you have your Educational Plan?
If you are pursuing a certificate or degree, you are strongly encouraged to meet with an advisor to develop an educational plan. An educational plan is a roadmap towards completing a college degree and an outline of the coursework required to complete an educational goal or program of study.

Transfer credits to NSCC?
If you plan to earn a degree or certificate at NSCC and you have taken classes at another college or university, which may apply to your current program, then you will need to have a transfer credit evaluation. See the Transferring Credits page.

Planning to transfer to a 4-year institution?
Check out our College Transfer site.

Plan to graduate within 2 quarters?
Make sure you see your advisor at least 2 quarters before you finish to make sure you are on track. You need to apply for graduation before your final quarter.
