If you plan to earn a transfer degree at North Seatle Community College and you have taken classes at another college or university, you may be able to transfer some or all of those credits toward your degree program at NSCC. A transfer credit evaluation is necessary if you plan to earn a degree or certificate at North and you have taken classes at another college or university which may apply to your current program. See an Advisor in the Advising Center. An unofficial evaluation of incoming credits can be completed with an Advisor. Bring copies of your transcripts to the advising session. The Advisor will assist you with selecting appropriate courses. A graduation plan will be developed accompanied by an academic worksheet.
A transfer credit evaluation is not necessary if you want to use classes from another institution as a prerequisite for a class at NSCC. Bring an unofficial copy of your transcript to the Advising Center for an entry code to register online.
How to Submit Courses from Other Colleges for Evaluation
- Order Official Transcripts from each college or university attended. Official transcripts should be sent to: Records Office North Seattle Community College 9600 College Way North Seattle, WA 98103-3599 Exception: If you have taken classes at Seattle Central or South Seattle Community College, transcripts from these two colleges are not required.
- Fill out the Application for Evaluation of Incoming Credits. The green Application for Evaluation of Incoming Credits form is located in the Advising Center or at ARRC. Incomplete forms will be returned.
- Submit the signed Application for Evaluation of Incoming Credits to the front counter of ARRC. Staff will verify that official transcripts are on file. If official transcripts have not arrived, the student will be asked to submit the form after the Official Transcripts have arrived. Please Note: If you choose to submit your transcripts in person, be sure the official transcripts remain sealed upon delivery.
Credentials Evaluation Results
A copy of the credit evaluation will be sent to you by mail within 6-8 weeks from the date this request is submitted; however, during high volume periods official evaluations may take longer.
