When can I register for classes?
For your first quarter, you will receive your assigned registration time:
  1. by email if you applied online.
  2. in person if you applied at the Admissions/Registration desk.
For all future quarters, you will need to look up your registration time by visiting Online Services and using the 'Confirm your Registration Appointment' under Registration and Class Schedules.

How do I register for classes?
Once you have been assigned your registration time:
  • Visit Online Services
  • Follow the "Register/Add/Drop" link
  • BEFORE SIGNING IN, follow the link for "Online Registration Instructions" and follow the step-by-step instructions provided.
  • Return to the Register/Add/Drop to sign in when you are ready

You will become very familiar with Online Services while a student at NSCC. You will also access Online Services to to get your grades at the end of every quarter.

Closed Classes
A class is "closed" when the maximum number of students allowed to register for that class has already been reached. If you are told that the class you want is closed, you may still be able to register for the class if you put your name on the waiting list for that class. If additional space becomes available, the next student on the waiting list will be automatically enrolled in the class.

Wait Lists
If you attempt to register in a class that is already full, you may get a message that the class is "closed." If that class has a wait list, you will be given the opportunity to get on the "Wait List" for the class. Be sure to check your status periodically to see if you have been enrolled in the class.

How do I put my name on a Wait List?
If the course you are registering for has a wait list, you will be notified about this on the registration screen. You will then be given an opportunity to place yourself on the waiting list. Read the Wait List Information to understand your responsibilities if you add yourself to a wait list.

A final note:
While this may be several quarters away, you should be aware that you are required to apply for graduation if you are earning a certificate or degree. After you register for your last quarter of classes, you should begin the graduation application process to ensure you can turn in the completed application by the required deadline.
