Washington State Certification
You must be employed or volunteer for a qualified pre-hospital care agency before
the Department of Health will issue the Emergency Medical Technician certificate.
If you do not qualify for the EMT
certificate, you have 18 months before you must take the state written exam over
again. If you fail to qualify by the end of 36 months, you must take an
EMT course over from
the start.
State Reciprocity
North Seattle Community College trains students to meet the standards of the
Washington State exam for the Emergency Medical Technician certificate. If
you are licensed in another state and wish to transfer to Washington State,

National Registry
North Seattle Community College does not offer testing or certification in the
National Registry program, nor do we offer any
CME courses for the
National Registry. Please contact the National Registry at nremt.org.
