The Medical Reception program is an MA option in the Medical Assisting Certificate program. It is intended to give students a short training program with basic office skills required to enter the medical field in entry-level positions such as a front desk person, receptionist or file clerk.

Students that complete the Medical Reception program module shown below will receive a certificate of completion. Recommended schedule is flexible; students may take less credits per quarter but should take courses in order listed.

Prerequisites: Courses must be within the last ten years or COMPASS test is required. Contact Testing Center.
MATH100 - Math for Health Careers.
ENGL&230 - Technical Writing.
IT101 - Software Applications.
Applicant should have oral English skills sufficient to communicate accurately with others in the medical field.
Applicant must have completed a medical terminology course.
