The Medical Transcription program is an MA option in the Medical Assisting Certificate program. This short program is intended for the student who is already in the medical field and wants to add transcription skills to their qualifications.

Students that complete the Medical Transcription program modules shown below will receive a certificate. Students may take that certificate then go out and work, and return to take additional modules to later complete the Medical Assisting Certificate program.

Recommended schedule is flexible; students may take less credits per quarter but should take courses in order listed.

Prerequisites: Courses must be within the last ten years or COMPASS test is required. Contact Testing Center.
MATH100 - Math for Health Careers.
ENGL&230 - Technical Writing.
IT101 - Software Applications.
Applicant should have oral English skills sufficient to communicate accurately with others in the medical field.
