A pharmacy technician works directly under the pharmacist in a variety of settings including
hospitals, local pharmacies, medical clinics, mail order, home infusion and insurance companies.
He or she interprets prescriptions or medication orders, prepares and labels medications, and
then dispenses them after careful review by the pharmacist.
Students completing program requirements earn a certificate in Pharmacy Technician and are eligible to apply, to the
Washington State Board of Pharmacy, for a certificate to practice as a Pharmacy Technician. Students completing 90 quarter
credits, of approved courses, may be eligible to earn an Associate of Applied Sciences Degree in Allied Health Services.
