AFA Degree: Art
Steps to Begin
Track Your Credits
The Art Department offers General Education and studio courses which fulfill Performing Arts requirements for the AA degree. The department also offers a more specialized AFA and CFA program; NSCC is one of the few colleges in the country to do so.

Art courses may also be taken by students who would just like to take an art course. The present age range for art students is from 16 to 85, with interests in pursuing art education equally as varied. All art courses taught by the Art Department are college transferable.

Students enrolling in the courses for college transfer must be graded and evaluated; however, it is also possible to take the courses on an "audit" basis where no credit is given or evaluation required. We also welcome senior citizens in the special "Readers Program" (with no credit given) on a space available basis for as little as $10. Seniors wishing to be certain of getting into a course are advised to pay the normal tuition and sign up for credit or audit.
