History Instructor on TV!

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Dr. Brian Casserly, a member of the history faculty at North, and a specialist in Pacific Northwest history, will appear in KCTS Public Television’s "The War: Stories from the Northwest" series that focuses on the roles Washington and British Columbia played in winning the Second World War. This locally produced documentary, which has remarkable footage and features other local history experts, was developed to accompany Ken Burns’ new PBS epic, THE WAR, which starts Sunday, September 23rd on the same station and other PBS affiliates. THE WAR took Burns seven years to produce and is the latest of several memorable series, of which THE CIVIL WAR and BASEBALL may be the best remembered.

To find Dr. Casserly, look for the "North Seattle Community College" caption appearing right under his name. He will be featured in the 7:30 pm episode on Friday, September 21st but you can also look forward to seeing him in future segments of this history documentary. The program will run several times with some episodes playing after THE WAR. Check the TV Schedules pages of KCTS’ Web site to find encore play dates for each episode. You can also watch the programs online.
