Women’s Basketball Team Makes History!

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

Based at NSCC, the Seattle Community College's women's basketball team, The Storm, took 5th place in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) championship on March 2. It was the first trophy the women's team has ever taken home from the event. Lead by head coach Rebecca Valdivia and assistant coaches, Glen Tinned, and Kadee Peterson, the team lost the first game of the tournament but rallied and won three consecutive games. Forward Kayla Bennett was named to the first All-Tournament team. Roy Flores, Vice President for Student Services, was proud of the win and that they "represented the Seattle Community Colleges with their competitiveness, their intensity, and their passion in a very classy manner."
