Emergency funding for qualified students

The Workforce Education Office has Carl Perkins Emergency Grant funds available for students Summer Quarter. The Perkins Grant can help students in career/technical programs, ABE, GED and ESL programs with the cost of required books, GED testing, Go-Passes and parking permits.
The quarterly applications will be available in the Workforce Education office (TB 1648) starting Monday, June 9th. The Priority Application Deadline will be June 18th, but we will accept applications until funds are exhausted. Please encourage your students to apply early as applications are considered in the order they are received.
Summer Quarter ONLY: Because the new fiscal year begins July 1st, we cannot disburse any 08-09 funds until that date. However, limited 07-08 Perkins funds may be available before July 1st. This is one more reason to apply early.
Important Dates:
June 9th - Perkins Applications Available
June 18th - Priority Application Deadline
June 20th - Notification of Awards for applications received by June 18th (later applications will be processed and notified as they are received)
July 1st* - Vouchers Available
*08-09 funds cannot be used until July 1st. Limited 07-08 funds may be available before July 1. Apply early for consideration of these funds.
