Director of Nursing Program Appointed

Barbara D. Hack, RN, MSN, has been chosen as the Director of North's Nursing Program. Hack will run the program, which includes the degreed LPN to RN Ladder Program as well as the new Nursing Assistant-Certified Program, including a pathway for students who speak English as a Second Language. Hack brings a wealth of varied and practical experience to her new post. She comes to North from South Seattle Community College where she was the Interim Co-Director of Nursing and on the faculty, teaching in the Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse (LPN to RN) Ladder program. From 1999 to 2007, Hack worked as a School Nurse in Seattle Public Schools. She has also worked as a research nurse, in home healthcare and as a Registered Nurse. Hack attended Vanderbilt University and earned a BSN then went on to attain her MSN in Nursing at the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing at Loyola University of Chicago. She has written several papers, including "Inhaled Tobramycin in Cystic Fibrosis", published in the American Journal of Pediatrics.
