Tuesday, June 30th, 2009
If you are planning to take college courses during the summer this year, you may be having difficulty finding openings at colleges in the Seattle area. While many classes at NSCC are full or have waiting lists, there are a number that still have capacity. Enroll today - summer quarter starts Monday, June 29th!
Three courses that almost anyone would enjoy (and that may count for transfer or degree requirements) are MUSC 113 Music in the U.S., ENGL&111 Intro to Literature and HUM 110 Introduction to Film - all are fully online - study out on the deck with your ice tea in hand!
Get fit this summer or take your program up a notch with PEC 150 and PEC 151 - individualized fitness programs that include aerobic, strength, flexibility and endurance training and health topics. Or get certified in first aid in PEC 155 First Aid and Personal Safety.
For teachers who want to enhance their skills, or those aspiring to work in early childhood education, sign-up for CCE 160 Connecting to Children or CCE 195 Art for Young Children.
If you're a science major or need science credits to prepare for transfer or to earn your 4-year degree, enroll in SCI 113 Marsh Ecology or SCI 112 Seashore Life - you'll get to spend much of your time in the field! We're also still accepting students in biology and chemistry - BIOL&160 General Biology with Lab, BIOL&213 Majors Plant and CHEM&139 General Chemistry Prep. There's also space available in math courses: MATH &153 Calculus III and MATH 090 Mathematics Modules (review/refresher course on topics from basic math to college algebra) and it's online!
Continue your language studies in SPAN&122 (Spanish II which is an "intensive" course) and SPAN&123 (Spanish III). Lanuage courses are starting to disappear at some colleges so don't miss this opportunity.
