Section: About this Site
This site has been developed to ensure that all basic site information will be available to the widest audience possible regardless of the user's chosen browser, browser version, operating system, internet connection speed, hardware or software limitations, or sensory or physical disabilities.

Clearing the Cache
Web browsers store copies of pages in the browser cache on your computer. By doing this, the page displays faster the next time it is viewed since the browser doesn't have to retrieve it from the web server. However, sometimes an update is made on the website that you don't see because the cached page is displayed.

To see any changes made to the page, hold down the SHIFT key while you do either of the following:
  • In Internet Explorer, select the Refresh button - Refresh - on the toolbar.
  • Other browsers may have a Reload button.
On the Mac: Safari > Empty Cache.
This will completely clear the browser's cache so you will see the updates when your page reloads.

Disability Access
This site aims for full compliance with 'Section 508' guidelines and standards for accessibility. Each page on this site has been specially adapted to improve access for site visitors using alternative browsers, including text-only and screen reader browsers. Any official NSCC website distinguished by the 'www.northseattle.edu' address will meet these standards. If you have a disability, and need assistance in learning about our college, or enrolling in classes, the Disability Services office at NSCC is available to assist you.

User Control
"User Control" means the site has been designed to give the site visitor, or 'user', maximum control over how the website is displayed. This design will adapt to almost any common browser screen size, and allows for adjustments to the size of the text that is displayed by either increasing or decreasing your browser's settings.

Text Size
The user can increase or decrease the size of the text to fit their preference. In the most popular Netscape and Internet Explorer browsers, you can change the text size by choosing "View" from the menu in the upper left side of your browser and look for an option that will let you increase or decrease the fonts, or a category labelled text size. Keep in mind that changing the size of the text may affect the text in other websites -- not just the NSCC website. You can always return to the original text settings by reversing the changes.

Any problems or questions regarding this site can be reported to the Webmaster using the email provided on the Contact NSCC page.
