Section: Associate of Business, Direct Transfer Agreement Degree

Purpose: The Associate in Business-DTA is a 90-credit transfer degree designed for students who wish to transfer to a four-year college or university and major in Business. The AB degree includes composition, math, and other general education requirements in addition to specific business prerequisite coursework.

Outcomes: Upon completion of the AB degree, you should:

  • Have college-level knowledge and skills in critical thinking, quantitative analysis, and written composition.
  • Have college-level mastery of information literacy and technology literacy.
  • Understand methods and modes of inquiry specific to traditional and contemporary areas of knowledge in the humanities and arts, natural and physical sciences, mathematics, and the social sciences.
  • Understand the United States as a multicultural society.
  • Understand the global society and processes of globalization from mostly, but not exclusively, non-Western and indigenous perspectives.

The AB Advantage: Students who complete the Associate in Business-DTA degree can fulfill many of the general education and business major prerequisites required for many Washington State four-year colleges and university business programs.

Advising: Since requirements can vary, be sure to consult with your intended transfer institution early in your program. Also plan to meet with an academic advisor for assistance in developing an educational plan specific to your goals.
