Why sponsor an intern?

We are really excited about her, I think she is the perfect fit for us, and she is exactly the type of person I envisioned could fill this role. We are really looking forward to working with her and it wouldn't have been possible without you. So, thank you very much for putting her in contact with us.

Recruiting an Intern

  1. Develop an internship job description

What would you like the student to do at your company? What duties would he or she perform? The more detailed the description is, the better. Keep in mind, paid internships are more attractive to students.

  2. Post the internship on Interfase

Interfase is NSCC's internship and job database. From there, students can view your internship posting and apply. Internship applications are screened by the Internship Coordinator to ensure an appropriate match between the position and the student's skills. Qualified applicants will then be forwarded directly to the employer.

  3. Interview applicants and select your intern(s)

She is great at taking direction and has worked well with the other interns designing a marketing promotion. She has really taken to the production side of things and has performed wonderfully as an intern.

Internships generally last at least one quarter (11 weeks), however, they may extend beyond this time depending on the employer and student's needs. The actual number of hours and work schedule are negotiated between the student and the employer.

The documentation for the internship is minimal and completely driven by the student. This means the student will present the appropriate documents at the appropriate times for the employer to sign. The documents include:
