 The mission of the Loft Writing Center Plus is to help students improve their skills in English and world languages through individual and small-group tutoring in a positive, multicultural environment. Loft services are available free of charge to enrolled students with an NSCC ID card.
- Writing
- Students come to The Loft for assistance with any type of writing project for any class, from brainstorming and outlining to revising and polishing. Students work one-to-one with our tutors, direct their own study using our computer programs, and may even submit their writing online. Help with writing.
- English Skills
- Along with writing, The Loft can help students with reading, note-taking, studying, and oral presentations. Tutors, computer software, and online links are available to help students improve their English skills in these areas. Help with English skills.
- ESL
- Non-native speakers of English at NSCC visit The Loft for assistance with any class. One-to-one tutoring, group tutoring, and specialized self-study software are available to benefit those for whom English is not a first language. Help with ESL.
- World Languages
- Students can seek tutoring in Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Chinese,
Russian, and American Sign Language. The Loft also offers self-study software in a number of world languages. Help with world languages.
