To register for classes at NSCC through the Running Start Program you will need to do
the following every quarter:
Five Easy Steps

Schedule an appointment with your high school counselor.

Schedule an appointment with your high school counselor to discuss your high school graduation requirements and academic goals.

Complete your pre-enrollment form. It must be signed by your high school counselor.

Discuss your course selection with your parents/guardians and obtain a parent/guardian signature on your pre-enrollment form.
(A parent/guardian signature is required even if you are 18 and older.)

Schedule your pre-registration appointment with the Running Start advisor.

Call 206-527-3682 or 206-527-3658 to schedule an appointment. You can also stop by the Advising Center and ask at the front desk to schedule an appointment.

Bring your completed and signed pre-enrollment form to your pre-registration/advising appointment.

Meet with the Running Start advisor.

Turn in your completed pre-enrollment form, review your progress in the program and discuss courses that will meet your long term academic goals.

Register for classes online during your assigned registration time.

Go to the Cashier's Office.

Identify yourself as a Running Start student and show the cashier your schedule.

You will receive your photo ID quarterly registration sticker.

Pay for any additional fees not covered by Running Start.

Tips on Choosing Your Classes
You are responsible for taking appropriate courses for high school graduation.
- Finish high school graduation requirements before choosing courses for college admission.
- Next, choose courses to prepare for your college major.
- Consider your schedule (factor in travel time and study time).
