Changing Your Schedule
Running Start students have a hold on their registration.
To officially add, change, or drop a class you must meet with a Running Start advisor to have the hold removed. You may then make a change to your schedule online or in person at the Admissions/Registration office. It is the student's responsibility to inform their high school counselor of any changes.
Withdrawing/Dropping Class(es)
If you are thinking about dropping a class, discuss it with your high school counselor,
parents/guardians and the Running Start advisor.
- You must contact a Running Start Advisor to drop classes.
- Courses officially dropped by the 2nd week of the quarter will not appear on your college transcript and you will not receive credit for the course.
- Courses officially dropped between the 3rd and 8th week of the quarter will show a "W" (withdraw) on your college transcript and you will not receive credit for the course. (Refer to the Academic Calendar for important dates).
- It is not possible to withdraw from classes after the 8th week of the quarter. If you are not attending your class or can't attend class after the 8th week, please meet with the Running Start advisor to discuss options.
- A "W" is not computed in your GPA.
- Having "W's" on your transcript may impact your acceptance at some four-year universities and your chances of receiving scholarships.
- It is better to have a "W" than a failing grade.
If you stop attending a course, you must officially withdraw from the course. Failure to officially withdraw may result in a 0.0 failing grade being assigned at the end of the quarter.
