Running Start Students

Running Start Students are College Students
College is different from high school. Classes move at a faster pace. There is more independence and freedom. Your classmates are older and come from diverse backgrounds. There is more homework.
North Seattle Community College is on a quarterly schedule and breaks may be different from the high school schedule.
Furthermore, college instructors and staff can only talk to you about your progress at North Seattle Community College. Privacy laws - Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) - prohibit us from talking to your parents without a written release from you.

New Ideas?

  • Be respectful and open-minded – college is a time to learn about differing ideas.
  • Discuss your concerns with the instructor after class.
  • Take your concerns to the Counseling Center, Advising Center, or other student service staff.
