- Running Start Students are College Students
- College is different from high school. Classes move at a faster pace. There is more independence and freedom. Your classmates are older and come from diverse backgrounds. There is more homework.
- North Seattle Community College is on a quarterly schedule and breaks may be different from the high school schedule.
- Furthermore, college instructors and staff can only talk to you about your progress at North Seattle Community College. Privacy laws - Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) - prohibit us from talking to your parents without a written release from you.
New Ideas?
- Be respectful and open-minded – college is a time to learn about differing ideas.
- Discuss your concerns with the instructor after class.
- Take your concerns to the Counseling Center, Advising Center, or other student service staff.
