Serving a diverse student body, the Social Sciences Department offers a variety of educational experiences reaching out to each and every student. We support the associate's degree and general education, and offer courses that transfer to most four year colleges or universities. The Division provides over sixty different courses in twelve areas of study.

In addition, several of our faculty join humanities and science faculty to arrange Integrated Studies programs. Finally, we furnish required social science courses to help students smoothly enter professional schools such as business or nursing.

Social science involves understanding people and the circumstances that they confront. By studying social science you become more aware and better able to encounter situations as a citizen, worker and family member. We believe that the Division advances the type of knowledge and thinking skills needed for the twenty-first century. We are pleased to help you grow intellectually.
