Step 2: Testing
After you apply, you will be sent information about New Student Sessions. You will need to bring either your placement test results or unofficial transcripts to the New Student Orientation Session (Step 4) before they can register for classes.
All students who are entering degree, certificate, or college transfer
programs are required to take English and math placement tests to
evaluate their English and math skills. Testing is also required for all
other students who wish to enroll in English or math courses that
list placement test scores as a prerequisite. Most students fall into
one of these two areas, and need to go to the Testing Center during drop-in
placement hours to test. To find the current drop-in placement visit the
Testing Center web site.
Exceptions to placement testing: Students who have already completed placement testing or college-level English or math courses at another institution may not need to test. These students must bring unofficial transcripts or placement test results to the Advising Center for review.
