2003-2004 Season Results
Roy Flores, Vice-President of North Seattle, gave a moving speech at the End of the Season Banquet. Here are some of his words:
"The victories weren’t plentiful, but you "brung it" every game. Each of you improved as basketball players as the season wore on. However, this is not what is most important to me. What is my hope is that you have all grown as young women though your involvement with the Storm women’s basketball team. It is my hope that no matter where you end up after leaving Seattle CC that you help embrace the mindset of bringing your best selves on and off the court.
I want to congratulate you, players and coaches, on the effort that was made throughout this character-building season. I have seen the "thrill of victory and the agony of defeat" and marveled at your ability to stay focused and mentally tough. I have appreciated your poise, character, grace and dedication."
ODE TO THE SOPHOMORES
By Sarah Smith #34
We can’t believe the season has come to an end,
We’re sad that we’re losing four of our good friends.
Together we’ve had such great times,
Especially when we’re running those lines.
Now on to the player who scores the most,
She has an awesome shot and is a great post.
She moves to the basket with the greatest of ease,
Puts the ball in the hoop and aims to please.
When she shoots the ball we know it will be cash,
With a shot like that, who would it be but Ash.
On to the next player who can take it to the hole,
Shoot a three or run the play soul.
Whenever she takes it in for a drive,
She always makes the team come alive.
She can strip the ball like peeling a banana,
We will really miss you our Swedish girl Hanna.
We’ve got another player who has a great shot,
Just watch out for her when she gets hot.
She makes such awesome passes,
Threading the ball through the masses.
Besides being a great baller, she’s also very trendy,
Always smiling…that’s our girl Wendy.
Last but not least, the one that’s real tough,
Don’t let her guard you cause it’ll get rough.
Whenever our fire is getting dark,
She’s always there to bring the spark.
Whenever you hear cheering you know she’s not far,
We’ll never forget your encouragement Sandra Salvidar.
Now each of you are taking your separate ways,
And we hope you’ve enjoyed your last few days.
So go out there, play your hardest and fight,
And enjoy every second of this game tonight.
