Frequently Asked Questions

The 2019 Commencement ceremony will be held at T-Mobile Park (formerly known as Safeco Field) on Friday, June 14. Info on exact location and time will be updated here shortly. 

Once you arrive, you can get your bearings, get a bite to eat, have your headshot taken, and just enjoy your remaining moments as a student! .

Guests may arrive at T-Mobile Park (formerly known as Safeco Field) as early as 2 p.m. for the 4 p.m. ceremony. The entrance is at the corner of 1st Avenue S and Edgar Martinez Drive S.

The Seattle Mariners transportation page shows the various ways to get to and places to park at or near T-Mobile Park (formerly known as Safeco Field). Note that if you choose to park at T-Mobile Park (formerly known as Safeco Field), the fee is $10 on Commencement Day.

Additionally, the Seattle Central College parking garage will have free parking available for students and employees on a first-come, first-serve basis.

If you take Link light rail, you may park at the University of Washington parking lot E12. A $3 per hour fee will apply to those who park before 4:30 p.m. After 4:30 p.m., a flat rate of $5 will be charged for parking.

Fortunately, there are several transportation options to get to T-Mobile Park (formerly known as Safeco Field). Attendees may use the public bus system (King County Metro or Sound Transit buses), or Link Light Rail. Ride sharing services, such as Uber or Lyft, are also available.

You may bring as many friends and family members as you’d like to see you walk across the stage!

Your guests are welcome to take photographs from their seats at any time during the ceremony.

Yes. Professional photographers will be at the ceremony and photos will be available for purchase shortly after the ceremony.
GradImages, our official commencement photographer, will be on hand to capture the ceremony and your moment on stage.
If you need a professional headshot, we will have a photographer available near Graduate seating sections.

All photos taken by GradImages will be available at after commencement. More information on when they will be available will be posted here soon.

Day care is not available. Children are welcome but must be supervised by an adult at all times.

The ceremony will be approximately two and a half hours to three hours.

Yes. Graduates will have their names read as they cross the stage.

Commencement will likely be able to be viewed live. Arrangements have not been finalized but details will be posted soon.

Yes. Actual degrees or certificates are not distributed at the commencement ceremony. Instead, they are mailed to graduates after final grades for the graduating quarter are posted. Students who complete their requirements at the end of spring quarter will be mailed their awards in August.
