To enroll in ESL classes (English as a Second Language), you will need to complete the online ESL application here.

The English Directed Self-Placement (DSP) tool replaces North’s former English placement test. It is a self-guided survey that allows you to learn more about your English course placement options at North Seattle College so that you may pick the English course level that you feel is right for you.

To take the English DSP, please contact the Testing Center at NSCTesting@seattlecolleges.edu to request access.

• Be sure to provide your first name, last name, and ctcLink ID in your initial email.
  • If you have not activated your ctcLink ID visit the ctcLink Resources webpage for instructions.
• A $35 placement fee is required. This fee covers both math and English placement at North. If you have already paid for the math test, please notify the Testing Center so that you don’t have to pay the placement fee again for the English DSP.
  • Please note that your placement information cannot be added to your student account until you have paid the placement fee.

The math placement test is currently being conducted via the ALEKS Website.  Contact the Testing Center staff at NSCTesting@seattlecolleges.edu to request access to the ALEKS Math Placement Test.

• Click here to obtain the math placement instructions.
• Send your completed test scores to NSCTesting@seattlecolleges.edu with your first name, last name, and ctcLink ID.
• If you did not obtain a copy of your test scores, please notify the Testing Office staff via email and we will look up your test results.
